I’m bringing you today a blog tour -again- and I’ve got to say that once again I am not disappointed! Thank you to Rachel Ressources and the author for this Tour.
About Kathryn Freeman – “A former pharmacist, I’m now a medical writer who also writes romance. Some days a racing heart is a medical condition, others it’s the reaction to a hunky hero. With a husband who asks every Valentine’s Day whether he has to buy a card (yes, he does), any romance is all in my head. Then again, his unstinting support of my career change proves love isn’t always about hearts and flowers – and heroes come in many disguises.“
The main character in “The New Guy” is the strong and powerful Sam Huxton. We met her for the first time after the funeral for her grand father, so not in a very good state of mind. She’s at the bar when she meets this really handsome man, she’s giving a go at one-night stands -it’s not her thing, but for that night she doesn’t really care- just one rule: no name, no numbers, just ONE night. Until the next day, when the same guy walks in her office as he is the new guy she hired in her company.
It was a good read even if I struggled a bit at some point. I just took a break from reading it and then went back to it as if nothing had happen. I really like all the characters! Sam and Ryan were really amazing, intriguing and you really get easily attached to them but I also really loved Lucas’ character.
The author is growing the friendship and relationship between the two characters through the whole book, it doesn’t happen after ten pages and I really loved that because I did not feel like I wanted to stop reading it as I already knew the end.
I also really enjoyed discovering the characters’ stories about their families and meeting them. It’s really nice to read about many different characters but always with a connexion.
I would definitely recommend it, it’s not the genre I normally read but I truly enjoyed it.
