[Review] The Raven Thief – Ashley Olivier (Book 1)

Thank you to the author for sending me an ARC of her novel. It was meant to be published this November, however the release date has been pushed to March 2021.

Known as the Raven, Enya has a reputation for getting things done no matter the cost. Which is exactly why brothers Rowan, Beacon, and Niall hire her to help them retrieve a legendary sword. To Enya, this job means avoiding the noose and giving her crew the lives they deserve.

Unfortunately, there is far more to this quest than meets the eye.

A threatening rebellion. Fights for the throne. Sinister assassination attempts. Tyrannical rulers. With every corner turned, the hunt for the sword becomes far more deadly.

But the worst is yet to come.

An ancient evil is rising, hell-bent on reclaiming its army and power. Can Enya become the salvation mankind needs? Or will secrets kept by so-called allies allow the world to be plunged into darkness and despair?

Enya, known has the raven is asked to help the three brothers who are meant to be dead – Rowan, Beacon and Niall. Their mission is to retrieve the legendary sword which holds a lot of power.

If you like a book full of adventure, this one will be perfect for you.

Enya, the main character, is very bad-ass. She’s do anything to achieve her missions. The brothers are very interesting characters too, and they are all very different. I really liked the plot, the world built by the author, even though it took me some time to warm to it and get it correctly. Maybe, because I had not read this genre for a while ? I don’t know. But I really enjoyed this first book anyway, and I can’t wait for the sequel and to discover more about this story and the characters.

Also, I really love the cover. I love the colours, and it goes perfectly with the book.
