[Guest Post] 5 Minimalism Books To Read If You Want To Live With Less

I’d first like to thank Book Me Some Time for allowing me to guest post on their site today. I can’t wait to share my top 5 minimalism books to spark inspiration to all your readers to consider living a life with less. If you are unfamiliar with my blog, Mind Beauty Simplicity focuses on topics of intentional living, decluttering & self growth. I’ve been practicing minimalist living for a few years now & one of the best ways to immerse oneself in a new lifestyle is to read about it. Here are my top 5 minimalism books I recommend to those who are looking to learn more about being a minimalist or living a more intentional life.

Hello Habits: A Minimalist Guide To a Better Life by Fumio Sasaki

This minimalist self help book is a wonderful addition to your book shelf if you are looking to improve your daily routines & establish healthier habits. The book introduces the idea of talent vs. luck & how habits are the catalyst to our successes. Sasaki then takes us through the fifty [ yes, fifty ] steps to developing new habits through willpower. I highly recommend this read to anyone who is possibly struggling with developing a proper morning routine or feels they are unable to stay productive throughout the day. Maybe the issue is to let go of those bad habits & replace them with good ones.

Project 333: The Minimalist Fashion Challenge by Courney Carver

One of my favorite minimalist bloggers & author created this book to teach the fashion challenge of culling your own wardrobe. Project 333 is the challenge of only wearing 33 items for three months. This teaches us they it is possible to live with less clothing [ items] & make plenty of outfits. I read this book when I first started decluttering my closet. Each season, I have a capsule wardrobe of a certain number of items. It’s a fun challenge even if you aren’t minimalist to see if you can accomplish wearing only 33 items. Are you up for it?

Project 333: The Minimalist Fashion Challenge That Proves Less Really is So Much More - Audiobook by Courtney Carver

Soulful Simplicity by Courtney Carver

Another book by Courtney Carver is Soulful Simplicity. She discusses her own personal experience becoming more intentional & the benefits of living with less. I personally love reading about other people’s opinions & stories of becoming a minimalist because it’s always slightly different. I highly recommend this book if you are wanting to understand the concept of this lifestyle.

Hardcover Soulful Simplicity: How Living with Less Can Lead to So Much More Book

Minimalism: Living a Meaningful Life by Joshua Fields Millburn

I couldn’t not include The Minimalists in this list. Joshua is one of the creators of the Netflix Documentary about Minimalism. This book is a continuation to that documentary and tells the story of how he became a minimalist & how it benefits his life. I recommend this book because his perspective on this lifestyle is very inspiring.

Goodbye, Things by Fumio Sasaki

After reading his book about habits, I knew I wanted to read this one as well. Goodbye, Things is just that – it tells the benefits of letting go of your belongings & only keeping what truly matters. Sometimes when I’m in a decluttering rut & am holding onto too many things, I like to read books like this to feel inspired again or be given that talk to enlighten me.
